Create and manage subscriber lists from Salesforce

With Campaign Monitor for Salesforce you can create and manage your mailing lists without leaving Salesforce.

This help topic is based on the Spring '17 release of Salesforce, using the Salesforce Classic interface.

Create a subscriber list

To create a new Campaign Monitor subscriber list from your Salesforce account:

  1. In Salesforce, click the app menu at the top right, then select Campaign Monitor.
  2. Click the Subscriber Lists tab.
  3. Click New.
  4. If you're syncing multiple Campaign Monitor clients with Salesforce, select a client. Otherwise, go to step 5.
  5. Enter a name for the list.
  6. Select whether the list is single or confirmed opt-in.
  7. Select your unsubscribe settings.
  8. Optional: Select "Prevent Member Sync" to save on storage space.
  9. Click Create List.

Prevent member sync

This setting creates a subscriber list record in Salesforce, but does not create subscriber list member records. Learn more.

To change a subscriber list's name, opt-in type, unsubscribe and member sync settings:

  1. In Salesforce, click the app menu at the top right, then select Campaign Monitor
  2. Click the Subscriber Lists tab.
  3. Click the subscriber list ID next to the name of the list you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Edit the details.
  6. When finished, click Update List.

NOTE:  If you turn "Prevent Member Sync" on after a subscriber list has already synced, only new members will not be synced to Salesforce. The existing members will remain unless you reset the Subscriber List Members data.

Delete a subscriber list

To delete a Campaign Monitor subscriber list using Salesforce:

  1. In Salesforce, click the app menu at the top right, then select Campaign Monitor.
  2. Click the Subscriber Lists tab.
  3. Click the subscriber list ID next to the name of the list you want to delete.
  4. Click Delete then click OK.
  5. Click Delete List.

TIP If you've imported a subscriber list into Salesforce, to keep your data clean it's best to delete it in Salesforce instead of in Campaign Monitor. If a list has already been deleted in Campaign Monitor, we advise running a full resync from Advanced Settings in the administrator console.
