Email Tracking Statistics

When a Campaign is sent from Campaign Monitor tracking data is collected from recipient interactions.  Every hour (by default this can be changed) Campaign Monitor for Salesforce will pull these records into Salesforce via a batch process.  We do this to be as efficient as possible.  Once the records are created we attempt to match them to a Salesforce Contact or Lead record based on email address. If an email address cannot be found the record will remain orphaned until a match can be found.

Storing email tracking data in Salesforce is a premium feature.  If you are on our free plan email tracking data will be removed from your Salesforce org and the ability to control it will be disabled.

Each tracking statistic record will show you (amongst other things) the campaign name, activity date, and the type.  The types of tracking data we store are sent, open, clicked, bounced and unsubscribed. Email tracking statistics records are visible via:

The email tracking statistics related list on a Contact or Lead record

By clicking on a Subscriber member record and navigating to email history

Salesforce reporting and dashboards

Tracking data from Campaign Monitor journeys is currently not stored in Salesforce due to an API limitation. So journey tracking data is not be visible on a related list or available to Salesforce reporting.  However, when you view email history on a subscriber list member we show (not store) the data from Campaign Monitor in real time this includes both Campaign and Journey tracking data.

Finally, it is worth noting that email tracking statistic records take up space and count against your overall Salesforce storage limit.  So to help we have two easy ways to tune storage, you can learn more here.
